Chistmastime is a time for singing;
Telling the world of the Saviour's birth.
Come with us, join this happy chorus,
Sing of peace which has come to the earth.
Bethlehem, long ago, where it all happen'd;
In a cold stable bare - He was born!
Jesus came as a little Baby,
Bringing Salvation to a world forlorn.

Shepherds came running to the manger
So they could see if the Prince was there.
Angels bright told them of this Baby,
While their hymns to the Lord fill'd the air.
And they found it was true, it had all happen'd;
In a cold stable bare - He was born!
Prince of Peace, just a little Baby,
Bringing Salvation to a world forlorn.

Strangers too gather'd at the manger,
Bringing rich gifts for that Baby Boy.
Gold and myrrh, frankincense they brought Him
And their hearts gave to Him in their joy.
Not in a palace grand had it all happen'd
In a cold stable bare - He was born!
By a star they had found the Baby
Who brings Salvation to a world forlorn.

Christmastime is a time for singing,
Bringing our hearts to the Infant King.
There He lies waiting in the manger
For the gifts gladly we bring.
Jesus gives to us all hope in the future,
Lifting the clouds on a world forlorn.
If we come to that little Baby
We will find the joy and peace when we're re-born!

This song is from:

"Christmastime is a time for singing"
but this year there are many people grieving because of the terrible events of this first year of the new millenium.
Singing will be difficult, if not impossible, for the world
is indeed a forlorn place at this moment.

Every Christmas is difficult for someone who has just
experienced the intensity of grieving for a loved one.

And yet the message of Christmas is still there
as it has been for 2000 years.
It is a message that must be shared for it is
to the whole world.
Christmastime must be a time for singing
- by those of us who can-
to bring hope and comfort to those who cannot.

But the angel said to them:
"Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy
that will be for all the people.
Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you;
He is Christ the Lord.
You will find a Baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

Luke 2:10-12
