Christmas Visitors

The Magi!

Now these visitors were more like it - sophisticated, educated -
and the presents they brought would have been worth something!

How would they have felt when they got back home?
Were they ever the same again?
Or were they simply - different?

I was 15 when I first read T.S. Eliot's poem -"The Journey of the Magi"
- it struck a chord with me, as a young Christian, then -
it strikes a chord with me now.

Oh, there's no theological accuracy in it
- it deals with feelings -
and I like to think it was written by Melchior,
who was supposed to be the youngest of the Wise Men /Kings/
whatever or whoever they were.
